Justin Bieber dolls are only the beginning of the Justin Bieber phenomenon. Bieber has extremely dedicated fans that do extreme things to get his attention.
Justin Bieber is a 16-year-old singer who has stolen the hearts of many teenage girls all over the world. Bieber started posting videos on YouTube in 2007 that were spin offs of popular songs. In October of 2008 he was officially signed onto Island Records where he remains today. Bieber has numerous hits such as “One Time,” “One Less Lonely Girl,” “Baby,” and many more, but his success is greatly due to his extremely dedicated fans.
On Bieber’s official Facebook page, he has over 12.3 million fans and is growing everyday. On his official MySpace page he has just over 1 million friends and on his official Twitter page he has over 5.5 million followers. According to Twitter, of the millions of tweets each day, 3% of those servers are used for Justin Bieber, and he can fenerate up to 60 replies per minute.
Bieber does not have only ordinary fans though; he has some extraordinary fans. Bieber has had fans, more specifically girls, try to jump into the back of his car, and even literally throw themselves at him just to get his attention. On one occasion, one of his younger fans, “Crying Cody,” a three year old girl, said she was going to cry until Justin Bieber visited her, and he actually did it. “Crying Cody” was an internet sensation. She was found on YouTube, was a top story on Yahoo!, and was written about by reporters all around the country. Fans of Bieber, like Cody, have even created a name for themselves; they call themselves “Beliebers.”
Not all fan experiences are pleasant ones though. In August of 2010, during a concert in Sacramento, Bieber was telling his fans how much he loved them when, according to Celebrity Buzz, “a water bottle came flying out of nowhere” and hit Bieber in the head. Bieber simply told the fans at the show that it hurt, but he still loves them.
As the phenomenon continues, fans have even created a condition for themselves. Bieber Fever, according to Urban Dictionary, is defined as “the act of falling in love with the pop singer Justin Bieber.” Fans can even determine whether or not they have Bieber Fever with the list of symptoms that would diagnose someone as having Bieber Fever.
Justin Bieber is constantly in the spotlight now, but how long until he becomes another Aaron Carter, here one moment and gone the next?
