‘GLEE’ JOINS JUSTIN BIEBER, NELLY WITH HUGE BILLBOARD ACCOMPLISHMENT

Glee” has been very busy breaking records on the Billboard charts. In addition to becoming the second act in the Billboard Hot 100′s history to total over 100 chart entries, the cast has reached another big accomplishment this week.

On Thursday, the Billboard 200 chart was released, ranking the top selling albums for the week. “Glee” has two albums featured in the top five: “Glee: The Music, the Christmas Album” and “Glee, the Music: Season Two: Volume 4.”

Up until now, the only other artist to occupy two spots in the top five on the Billboard 200 this year was Justin Bieber. Prior to Bieber, Nelly was the last act to attain this level of album success on the chart back in 2004.

Given that “Glee” is only half way through season two, there is plenty of room to keep breaking Billboard records. Currently, Elvis Presley holds the record for most Hot 100 hits. “Glee” could easily take this spot by the end of season two. The cast will need just 7 more Hot 100 hits to steal the top spot. And with plans to cover a couple ofMichael Jackson songs in upcoming episodes, this task seems fairly easy.
