Justin Bieber shines at Do Something Awards without Selena Gomez - Gather Celebs News Channel

Justin Bieber may have been without his most glowing accessory, girlfriend Selena Gomez, at his side for Sunday's Do Something Awards, hosted by Glee's Jane Lynch. But he still managed to shine (literally!) on the red carpet at the Hollywood Palladium, while looking a bit too cool for school.

Rocking his shorter cropped 'do, the pop sensation, 17, opted for another one of his popular black-on-black ensembles, a favorite of his for awards show appearances -- think this year's Academy Awards and ESPYs. For Do Something, the Biebs wore his black button-down shirt unbuttoned over another black T-shirt. The highlight, though, were his slouchy gold pants that registered as quite the statement-maker. More shine came in the form of patent sneakers.

Justin Bieber must have needed some sunglasses to shield his eyes from the glare of his outfit (and no doubt the countless red carpet flashbulbs), as he donned a pair of square shades that more looked like they belonged on will.i.am during one of the Black Eyed Peas futuristic performances. Bieber is reportedly collaborating with will.i.am on an upcoming song, so he's apparently taking a few style tips from the rapper, too!

Still, although some elements of Justin Bieber's Do Something Awards look were questionable, it far outpaced his outfit at the recent Teen Choice Awards, which he did attend with Selena Gomez. He obviously didn't receive any trend tips from her, though, as his floppy bow tie, overwrought vest and untucked baby pink shirt screamed sloppy and overdone.

See Justin Bieber's shiny trousers and shades here, or tune it to the Do Something Awards, which are set to air August 18 on VH1 and recognize those who are trying to make the world a better place. Now that is something that's always in style!

Please provide details below to help Gather review this content.
