Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez Among Favorite 'Glasses-Wearing' Stars - Gather Celebs News Channel

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have been named at the top of the list of favorite celebrities who wear eye glasses. Could Selena and Justin use their fame to help stop bullying of kids who wear glasses?

A recent study in the United Kingdom suggests that school children would rather squint than be teased for wearing glasses. Even after the ever popular Harry Potter movies, corrective eyewear is just not cool. It turns out that nearly 1/3 of all school aged kids in the UK who wear glasses are subject to bullying and teasing.

This is where Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber come in. Selena and Justin both have been actively vocal against bullying and teasing. How can these two stars (among others) help kids feel better about themselves, and less embarrassed to wear prescription glasses? Will it even work?

The same researchers say that kids are more likely to wear glasses if they see celebrities wear glasses when they are out. Basically if Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Rihanna, Tinie Tempah, and countless other of kids' favorite superstars embraced wearing their eye glasses publicly, then it could actually help ease the stigma associated with wearing them.

If kids think they are cool because Bieber is wearing them, then perhaps they won't fall trap to being bullied about them. Then again, they could be bullied for liking Justin Bieber, but that is a different problem altogether.

Please provide details below to help Gather review this content.
