Justin Bieber's manager Scott 'Scooter' Braun is off the hook for the charges of reckless endangerment and criminal nuisance he received after the chaotic incident with Bieber fans at a Long Island mall in November 2009.

According to E! News, the charges against Braun were dropped Friday (May 6) after Bieber agreed to make a public-service announcement for an anti-cyberbullying campaign and his record label, Island Def Jam, pleaded guilty to the ordinance violation and agreed to reimburse the county almost $8,000 to pay its share of the costs associated with the law enforcement and fire marshal response after the melee.

All this stems from a Bieber mall appearance that turned into a stampede and injured one fan. Police alleged that Braun failed to properly control the situation at Roosevelt Field Mall in Long Island, New York, when they ordered him to send a message to Bieber's fans via Twitter to notify his followers that the event was canceled.

Fans of the rising teen superstar were waiting for Bieber to arrive at the mall, where he was set to perform selections from his EP, My World, which had been released earlier in the week.

Braun refused to send the message, police said. Instead, authorities contend Braun eschewed safety in favor of publicity. As things got out of hand, police said, Bieber's Twitter still read, 'On my way to Roosevelt Field Mall in Long Island, NY to sign and meet fans! I'm pumped. See u there.'

After a representative from the singer's label was arrested, a message from Bieber's Twitter was sent urging fans to go home. 'The event at Roosevelt Mall is cancelled,' he tweeted. 'Please go home. The police have already arrested one person from my camp. I don't want anyone hurt.'

When are people going to learn that you just can't get away with dissing Justin Bieber? You can't criticize him, date him or look sideways at the 'Baby' singer without the Beliebers coming down on you like a ton of sparkly, text-mad bricks.

So it should come as no surprise that the culprit in a recent Bieber bashing Down Under was swiftly brought to justice for his egg raid on the pop star. According to The Associated Press, Australian officials have charged a 17-year-old with breaking into Bieber's concert at Sydney's Acer Arena on Friday and tossing eggs at the singer. Video of the incident showed several raw eggs hitting the stage and just missing Bieber and his backup singers. Bieber and his crew kept dancing amid the attack, but the Melbourne Herald Sun reported that officials from the arena complained about the incident to police after catching wind of the egging on a social networking site.

The teen was arrested at his home in Bondi Junction, and police seized a cell phone and other items while taking him into custody.

The unnamed youth made an appearance in Sydney Children's Court on Thursday and was charged with breaking and entering, trespassing, and malicious damage. He was released on bail and is scheduled to enter a plea next month. Police say the teen broke into the arena through the roof.

Bieber didn't react to the ovum assault, but he did take time after one of his recent shows to meet up with Australian teen Casey Heynes, who became famous for a viral video in which he stood up to a bully. He invited Heynes to come out on stage at a show in Melbourne and tell the crowd 'Never say never' after meeting with him privately backstage.

Chris Brown recently took the stage with Justin Bieber during the Biebs' tour stop in Australia, where they performed 'Up,' and now the two will begin work on a video for Brown's F.A.M.E. track 'Next 2 You.'

Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, confirmed the video plans on Twitter. 'NP- #Next2You w/ @justinbieber and @chrisbrown - video treatment is crazy ... yeah it's coming!!' he wrote.

With little known about what these two have in store for fans, MTV News spoke to Brown in March about working with the teen star on the track. 'Being able to collab with [Bieber] was great,' Brown said. 'He's a young, energetic cat, so being able to work with him, with the fanbase he has, was incredible. I know a lot of little girls are going to love this record.

"I wouldn't say [he's] my protégé. He's doing his thing at a young age, and I was doing mine at a young age, so being able to see him come up is dope."

The midtempo ballad is about the power of love and making the pledge to spend your life with that special someone. The chorus says, 'One day when the sky is fallin'/ I'll be standing right next to you, right next to you/ Nothing will ever come between us/ 'Cause I'll be standing right next to you, right next to you.'

While it's a feel-good track, Brown joked that when recording the song, he missed his chance to hit the studio with Bieber. "I actually stood him up on accident," Brown recalled. "He was kind of mad ... I was all the way on the other side of town handling some business, 'girl business,' and I was rushing back, and by that time, he's like, 'Man, I'm leaving, bro. I did it — just check it out.' And I looked at it and listened to it and I was like, 'Man, this is crazy.' ... He's a great kid."

Justin Bieber Responds To Marg Helgenberger Calling Him 'A Brat'

Justin Bieber Responds To Marg Helgenberger Calling Him 'A Brat': "

'It's kinda lame when someone you met briefly comments on you,' he tweeted after 'CSI' star's interview.

Justin Bieber apparently reads what people say about him. On Monday (May 9), he took to Twitter to react to comments by 'CSI' star Marg Helgenberger, who called him a 'brat.'

'I probably shouldn't say this, but he was kind of a brat,' Helgenberger said in an interview with French radio show Le Grand Direct des Medias on Friday when asked about the teen phenom's time on the set.

She continued, offering specific examples from when Bieber filmed guest appearances on 'CSI.' 'He locked one of the producers in a closet,' she said. 'And he put his fist through a cake that was on the craft services table.'

Bieber's response? 'It's kinda lame when someone you met briefly and never worked with comments on you. I will continue to wish them luck and be kind. #killemwithkindness,' he wrote. 'Even last week they had me scolded on a plane in the news because i wasnt in my seat fast enough. She was right and i sat down. That's news? I know who i am and sometimes people r just going 2 say what they want. Keep ur head up and be the man ur mama raised. #killemwithkindness.

'Rumors are just that ... rumors,' Bieber continued. 'In the end if you just be kind and be yourself people will know who you are. That goes for anyone i think. as for now ... we are in the JUNGLE!! Dont spread gossip and dont spread rumors about others ... im a kid and i know that. #respect.'

He then tweeted a link to a video clip of 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight' from 'The Lion King.'

Reps for both Bieber and 'CSI' had not responded to MTV News' request for comment by press time.

MTV News spoke to 'CSI' producer Carol Mendelsohn last year, after Bieber had taped his first appearance on the show. (He appeared again earlier this year.) She had only kind words about the actor.

'I thought that he did a really good job. We only had Justin for a day, for 10 and a half hours, and he had a lot of work crammed into those 10 and a half hours,' she said, adding, 'It's hard for any accomplished, mature actor to come on the set and fall right into character and do your work, so kudos to Justin.'

On Tuesday, fans immediately became excited by the news that Justin Bieber and Chris Brown have plans to shoot a video for Brown's F.A.M.E. track 'Next 2 You.' Luckily, that same day, MTV News had the pleasure of speaking with the video's director, Colin Tilley, who shared a bit about the clip.

'Tomorrow, I'm shooting New Boyz and Chris Brown ... then Justin Bieber and Chris Brown, together,' he teased. 'I can't tell you anything about that yet, but it's going to happen. It's gonna be big. It's gonna be big. I can't say anything else.'

Tilley had more to say about working with Brown on his eye-popping video for 'Look at Me Now.' 'I remember when we first got the song and Chris sent it to us: It was the first time I had heard the song, and it was so crazy to me,' Tilley recalled. 'Before we do every video, I always talk to Chris to kind of feel where he's going with the song and just where his motivation was with the song, and he actually sent me this one YouTube link ... It was this little '80s clip of these hip-hop dancers dancing.

'I would play it to the actual song, and at one point of the song, there were all these dancers dancing on these street elements like benches and tables and stuff like that,' he continued. 'From there, it just started to evolve from street elements and this whole underground vibe to just getting crazier and crazier. I wanted to make sure it was really exciting.'

Visually, the video never stops, thanks to a saturated color palette, cameos from Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes (who are featured on the track), funky clothes and funkier dancing.

'Chris is just always down to make something different, so that was really it ... the mask came about from Diplo and the cage, and it all started to evolve to this awesome video,' Tilley added.

(Photo by Ali Vicoy)</p></div><p>MANILA, Philippines -- Justin Bieber is crossing over the 15-minute fame mark to lasting stardom. YouTube's biggest contribution to pop culture included Manila in his crossover journey May 10 at the SM Mall of Asia for his "My World" concert tour. </p><p>YouTube is not the only Internet tool that has kept Bieber's moment aflame. The hardworking 17-year-old also has mastered the art of communication with his supporters via regular, personal and interactive updates through his official Twitter portal @justinbieber.</p> <p>Hours before the "Never Say Never" singer faced Manila media at the SM Mall of Asia Imax where Bulletin Entertainment booked a slot courtesy of the pop star's local label MCA Music, he tweeted: "Don't spread gossip and don't spread rumors about others… I'm a kid and I know that," in retaliation to an alleged claim by "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" actress Marg Helgenberger that Bieber was being a brat during a recent encounter on the set of the TV series.</p> <p>The American Music Award winner added, "Rumors are just that… rumors. In the end if you just be kind and be yourself, people will know who you are. That goes for anyone. I know who I am and sometimes people are just going to say what they want. This is where I get to relate all my emotions. My music will change but it will still be about music," Bieber told Bulletin Entertainment when asked if he had worked out a blueprint for longevity.</p> <p>Bieber has no qualms facing the surreal Hollywood lifestyle he leads. True to the spirit of his youth, he said, "I get overwhelmed [with fame] but I'm having a lot of fun. I'm just enjoying it."</p> <p>The teenage star also offered his music to his critics. "I'm 17, not yet an adult, yes and my music suits people my age but it's [also] for everybody [even for my critics]. Love is universal."</p> <p>He credited his mentor, Usher, for the latter's guidance. "He is amazing as a mentor guiding me in the right direction. [What we have is] like a family relationship."</p> <p>When asked about how he chooses the artists he collaborates with, Bieber said, "I collaborate with people I like."</p> <p>Bieber performed his hits and signature stage moves Tuesday night before thousands of screaming Filipino fans. </p><p>From his very first album ("My World") to his recent "My Worlds-The Collection" and "Never Say Never-The Remixes," Bieber's arsenal of chart-toppers has been on constant commercial climb garnering a record-high seven-time platinum award for the combined sales of "My World," "My World 2.0," "My Worlds," "My Worlds-The Collection" and "Never Say Never." All CDs are currently available in the country via MCA Music. (with report from Yugel Losorata)</p> <!-- /CONTENT --></div>
