Serious Anti-Justin Bieber Backlash After NYC Fashion's Night Out--Why? - Gather Celebs News Channel

Justin Bieber's September 8 appearance at Dolce & Gabbana's Fashion's Night Out caused a mob scene. It also caused a backlash of anti-JB Internet activity unseen since angry Selena Gomez fans first heard the word "Jelena." Why?

On September 8, New York City caught Bieber fever big time. Hordes of true beliebers flocked to Dolce & Gabbana's Madison and 69th Street store to catch a glimpse of the ultimate teen idol. The partygoers even included fellow celebrities Eddie Cibrian and his beautiful wife, super in-shape , LeAnn Rimes, Chace Crawford, Anna Wintour, Usher, Brooklyn Decker, and Tyson Beckford. Justin Bieber's up close and personal appearance at the event brought out such a mob that the fire marshal was eventually called. Nevertheless, a good time was had by all. Or not.

Reportedly, JB's "fans had to purchase a special FNO tee for $195 before being allowed to meet him." The proceeds were donated to Scooter Braun's charity Pencils for Promise. Even so, $195 isn't exactly chump change. Unless of course, you're rich like...well, Justin Bieber. So while the "mob scene...waiting to meet Justin," was eagerly and widely reported by the media, replete with juicy details of "...screaming...heard around the block," and "one superexcited female fan [who] even fainted." many fans who would not or could not afford to fork over $195 for a tee-shirt were turned away. Oops.

Could this be the reason for negative comments that appeared on some JB fan sites over the weekend? Possibly.

"...faint?" wrote one sneeringly, "who does that?? $195.00 to see him and his bangs? These kids that went to see him need to be phychoanalyzed if you go that far to faint for a big forehead kid who has to wear bangs the rest of his life."

"$195?!?!" posted another in disbelief. "That's too crazy. It's such a rip off to meet a celebrity... or to even talk to them."

Other posts were shorter, but not at all sweet: "Go Away Bieber!!!! Yukkkkkkkkkkkkk!"

Nevertheless, some true beliebers stood by their man. One such fan named, of all things, Selena, wrote:

"justin bieber is my future husband so don't talk smack about him."

And there you have it. While Justin Bieber was "graciously...giving high fives and posing for photos" with some fans, others went home disappointed. Of course, such is life.

What do you think?

© Hope Carson 2011

Hope Carson is the author of 2 books: A Roaring Girl: An Interview with the Thinking Man's Hooker and A Thousand and One Night Stands: The Life of Jon Vincent.
