The X Factor Judge L.A. Reid Talks Justin Bieber Rumors, Says Simon Knows Best ♥

Simon Cowell’s new singing competition show The X Factor gets underway this fall, and right now, the only thing anyone wants to know about it is who is going to judge it. So far, only one has been announced: music executive L.A. Reid, who left his post at Island Def Jam Records to take the gig. But there have been rumors that everyone from Nicki Minaj, Paula Abdul and Jessica Simpson to Justin Bieber and British pop star Cheryl Cole is in the running for the other slots on the panel.

Reid, who actually signed Justin Bieber to his record deal, addressed the rumors that the Biebs is up for the job by saying, “That would probably be really, really fun, [but] I don’t know. I don’t have a preference.” He did, however, deny British media reports that he accidentally confirmed Cheryl Cole as a judge during an interview. He explained, “It’s a complete falsehood. I never had an interview about it. There have been many, many names mentioned…but no decisions made beyond myself and Simon at this point.”

As far as Reid is concerned, Simon Cowell is the man, and he’s just following his lead. He explained, “I lean so heavily on Simon…he really is an expert at this…he knows what he’s doing. I’m sure he’ll assemble an amazing array of people for this panel.” In fact, Reid he’s doing the show for two reasons, and one of them is that he wanted to be “next to Simon” at the judge’s table. The other reason is to, as he puts it, “discover the next generation of superstars.”

As for why the world needs yet another singing competition, Reid explains, “There’s no secret that our industry has sort of been under seige…so we need every opportunity we can to continue to…discover talent. We have to continue to impact popular culture with great talent, great artists and great entertainers, and this is certainly one way of doing it.”

Auditions for The X Factor are taking place right now. The show debuts in September.

Justin Bieber Trains With Professional Soccer Players While In Spain ♥

Not only is he a world-traveling music superstar, but somehow, Justin Bieber manages to excel at all things sports, too. This week, the ‘Baby’ singer visited Spain and got a chance to train with professional soccer players while he was there.

The Biebs suited up to hit the field in a seafoam green Nike soccer uniform, and from the looks of it, kicked a little butt against the pros — and even tried his tongue at a little Spanish. Check out the video below and watch as the 17-year-old pop icon uses his quick feet to (almost) score a goal!

Bieber is currently touring overseas, with dates lined up in Switzerland, Italy, Israel, Malaysia, and Indonesia through the end of April.

Willow Smith recently supported Justin Bieber for his UK concerts last month and says she had a blast touring with him.

The 21st Century Girl singer said of being on the road with the Somebody To Love star: “Justin’s very funny.

“He’s plays basketball, like, right before the show, but I stopped because I was like, ‘somebody’s going to get hurt’,” Willow shared.

“So he won then he ran over and picked me up!”

Smith also told MSN that the tour was “awesome because I get to see new places and new people and how the crowd react.”

Justin is also a fan of Willow and recently said he thinks she is adorable.

Justin Bieber has been sued over his song “One Less Lonely Girl” by artist managers Vance Tate and Thomas Oliveria who represent songwriters Sean Hamilton and Hyuk Shin. According to reports the two writers received credit for the song, but Vance and Thomas feel that they are entitled to 10% of the publishing royalties for Sean and Hyuk’s portion of of the track profits.

I can’t really tell but if I make it to the finale, it’ll be a great surprise for Bieber fans. If Justin Bieber was on Dancing With The Stars, everybody else might as well just quit. He wouldn’t have a problem with the fan votes. Plus I think Bieber has a heads up because he already likes dancing and already has some dance moves.

This is a great marketing tactic for Romeo, because we all know if there’s a chance Justin might appear on the show all of his fans will be voting for Romeo from now on! Let the voting begin!
